The Central Maine Brittany Club Training Day

​

An annual training day is held in late summer at the Maine Bird Dog Trial Grounds in Fryeburg, Maine (Brownfield ME Wildlife Management Area).

 

Open to members in the Central Maine Brittany Club, the Northern New England Brittany Club and the Central New England Brittany Club that are interested in getting training help with their Brittanys.

 

The cost is $25 per member. This includes 1 bird plus the use of the tethered birds. 

 

A wide variety of training wis offered based on the training needs of dogs/handlers attending. 

 

Puppies: introduction to birds, retrieving and gunfire

​

Intermediate: Steadiness, retrieve and obedience

 

Advanced: Steadiness, retrieve, backing and handling. This is a great way to get ready for hunt test at the Senior Hunter level. 

 

Equipment used are whoa boards, bird launchers, auto backer and Winger Zinger.
