FIELD Collection: Volume 1
Sure to make you smile - highlights of the Central Maine Brittany Club 2010 Spring Field Trial held on May 22 & 23, at the Maine Bird Dog Club Field Trial Grounds in Brownfield/Fryeburg Maine. This field trial was all about - great dogs, great people, great food and great fun! As the spring field trials in the North East area have come to an end, not too early to plan for the fall. CMBC will have a trial in September and hopes YOU will be there! More information will be available soon. Contact CMBC if you would like to be put on a mailing list for the fall field trial. The club is planning to offer something new, including an all you can eat pig roast for our usual Saturday night family style dinner!

Agility and Flyball Collection: Volume 1
The Central Maine Brittany Club encourages members to be active with their Brittanys in a multitude of venues. This collection briefly highlights two Brittanys who each have exceled in the sport of Agility or Flyball. Here you will find Jenny and Sassy, with their owners, doing what they absolutely love to do best. Anyone with a Brittany knows how much this breed loves to run and and these two sports are just one other way of providing those important opportunities to do so! Schedules of local Flyball Tournaments and Agility Trials are readily available. Most dog training facilities offer training for Agility and to learn more about Flyball look up a local team. Summer Field N Fun Collection: Volume 1
July 31, 2010
Summer Field N Fun Day has become an annual get together and outreach to all Brittany owners, their friends and family. This is a relaxing and non competitive event. Everyone brings something to share for the potluck, buffet style picnic and contributes items for the raffle table. Fun day highlights usually cover a variety of demos including training for bird hunting, agility, flyball, showing, grooming and more. Last year testing for Canine Good Citizen took place with a 100% success rate for all Brittanys and their owners. DNA testing, Brittany breed development, early puppy training, mock dog shows, complimentary grooming have all been done in the past. Although each year it is different, a typical Field N Fun day begins late in the morning and continues throughout the day. This year 53 people attended and a total of 23 Brittanys, 1 Border Collie, and an Australian Shepherd. (This count did not include the resident Brittanys!)

FIELD Collection: Volume 2
September 11 & 12, 2010
Sure to make you keep on smiling, here are the highlights of the Central Maine Brittany Club 2010 FALL Field Trial held on September 11 & 12, 2010 at the Maine Bird Dog Club Field Trial Grounds in Brownfield/Fryeburg Maine. Once again, it was a field trial about great dogs, great people, great food and great fun! The late summer Maine weather was a perfect 10 most of the time, and even Sunday's overcast conditions didn't dampen the spirit. Good weather for the dogs to run in and for the handlers to keep cool in. Congratulations to each and every winner and thank you all for your ongoing support of this club which makes it all possible. Please remember most of these are candid and amateur photographs with minimum (if any) editing. Additional photographs will be made available upon request. Enjoy!

FIELD Collection: Volume 3
April 16, 2011 - Pointing Dog Training Day
Central Maine Brittany Club, The Maine Bird Dog Club, and the Northern New England Brittany Club hosted it's first tri-club training day at the Kennebunk Plains Wildlife Management Area. Over 25 individual dogs participated with their owners. Several families and many individuals attended with breeds that included Viszlas, English Pointers, Setters, German Shorthair Pointers, French and American Brittanys. Ages and experience level of the dogs ranged from 4 month old pups to a 12 year old senior finished gun dog. This non-competitive event was geared to youth, novices, newcomers, and those eager to learn how to enjoy their pointing dogs more. Professional and amateur trainers, experienced gundog owners, hunt test and field trial judges shared their accumulative knowledge regarding a variety of training techniques through group discussion and field demos with the dogs and owners. Hands on, interactive teaching methods were explained and demonstrated. The very young pups had a fun and positive introduction to birds which resulting in a true awakening. Despite the brisk and chilling breeze on the overcast day the turnout was great and the enhusiasm high with people traveling from Vermont, Northern New Hampshire, and Northern Maine. It was clear there is a keen desire and a need for this kind of training opportunity. It was a fun day all the way around with new friendships formed and old ones rekindled. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped to make this an enjoyable and worthwhile event !! Special thanks to: Bob Paucek, Phillip Thayer, Gary Anderson, Julie Harris, Steve Belletti, Dale Southard, Brian Drelick, Tom Zuk, Bruce Burnell, and to John Short.
