CMBC MEMBER SHOUT OUTS
Welcome new members* Bob Poulin and Steve Belletti!
A word of appreciation is extended to them as well as all of our most recent members for active participation and interest in the Central Maine Brittany Club. This includes the successful creation of a committee to work together on hats, t-shirts, stickers and other promotional items for the club! Thank you to Steve and Stephanie Stepanian and to Dave and Nicole Dube for all that you did. The club also wants to recognize how John and Linda Templin saved the day back in February on a cold and blustery day when we were locked out of our meeting place and a new location was found for us! And of course, ALL of our members are appreciated for their ongoing support of CMBC in a variety of ways throughout the year. (If we don't hear from members about their good news we won't be able to share them here. Thank you! )
JANUARY 2012 SHOUT OUTS:
Several CMBC members showed their Brittanys recently in Fitchburg, MA. Phil and Sherri Thayer won the blue in their classes with "Luna". Julie Harris and her puppy "Thistle" earned more points towards her AKC Championship with significant placements. "Bullet" who won a 4 pt Major as Best of Winners one day and Best of Breed the next with very nice competition. Ann Short had a successful weekend as well as Hemi (see below) picked up additional points. Pippin (mother of the pups) came close when she won a 4 Pt Reserved Major.
Appreciation is expressed to those who have been working together to get the 2012 Hunt Test off the ground. It's the first one CMBC has had since 1994! Thank you to all who have stepped up to the plate as gunners, judges, committee members, creation of the premium, and so much more.
DECEMBER 2011 SHOUT OUTS:
Congratulations to CMBC member Julie Harris and her puppy "Thistle" who at just under 6 months old earned her 1st 4 AKC Champion points by going Best of Winners and Best of Opposite at the recent Fitchburg shows. Thistle has participated in several "match' shows this fall with Best of Breed and Group placements. Littermate "Hemi" has also had a succesful show debut earning his 1st point along with significant show and match placements. He is owned by John and Ann Short.
OCTOBER 2011 SHOUT OUTS:
CONGRATULATIONS to CMBC members Steve and Stephanie Stepanian of Peabody, MA on successfully finishing their Brittany 'Nash' as an AKC Junior Hunter in September 2011!! Nash is now working on his Senior Hunter Title (along with several other CMBC member dogs). Check out the Champion of Record & Titled Dogs page.
CONGRATULATIONS to CMBC members Phil & Sherri Thayer of North Hampton, NH as their Brittany "Luna" (handled by their son Ben on his 13th birthday) earned a NAVHDA prize III with 106 points recently!!
CONGRATULATIONS to Gary Anderson, CMBC VP of Field Trials for his Brittany "Gunnar" winning 1st Place Open Gun Dog recently at the Eastern New England Brittany Club Field Trial!
Last but not least kudos also to members Frank and Donna Pride for their 1st and 4th placements in puppy stakes with pupsters "Mark" and "Jessie"! Speaking of the Prides, the above photo was taken at the 2006 CMBC Members Summer Field N Fun Day. Frank & Donna Pride react to Ann Short reading off signatures of club members and friends collected from around the country in support of nomination to the Brittany Field Trial Hall of Fame for People. Frank Pride was elected to this in 2008. NAFC/AFC Aux Arc's Mark owned by the Prides was elected to the BFTHOF for dogs in 2000. Their NAFC/AFC Pride & Joy's Bunch of Annie was under consideration for 2012 BFTHOF!
